Pennsylvania Institute for Instructional Coaching (PIIC)

PIIC is a statewide model for high quality professional development on instructional coaching and mentoring supported by the Annenberg Foundation and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. PIIC works to build teacher capacity as a means of increasing student engagement and improving student achievement. NIWL has developed a coordinated approach to collecting and analyzing data designed to document PIIC’s implementation and impact in schools‚ districts‚ and Intermediate Units across the state. NIWL’s research and evaluation have helped to build a continuous improvement model that bases programmatic planning on a portfolio of strong evidence. NIWL also provides management advice and support to the PIIC management team.
